Email From Callum

Hi danny,

Basically i have seen Steve Renyard Making the hermit rig and the bailiff down my carp lake is using it. He showed me how it works, but someone made it for him so no use.

Would you be able to tell me a step by step guide of how to make the hermit rig & what items i will need to make it.

Thanks

Callum

In response to your email Callum I have put together two short videos that demonstrate how I put this rig together, you can check these on our video page:

Top tips for fishing this rig:

PVA Bags all the way to avoid tangles

Slack lines always as a tight line will render the rig useless

Usually you get a screamer from this rig becasue the fish cannot deal with the pull from the elastic however be ready to hit a few bleeps if you are on a pressured water

I hope this helps you and let us know how you get on!!

Danny

Welcome to the Carp Lab – ever bought something that you saw in a fishing magazine and wish you hadn’t or have you ordered some tackle from the internet and ended up having to spend more money because it was crap?

Maybe you have travelled the length of the country to find fish when you have them on your doorstep or perhaps you just want a new site to visit to while wasting away the hours between fishing sessions.

I don’t have all the answers to Carp fishing and might not always say what you would like to hear but by using a bit of common sense and high school science I hope to help you become a better angler…

As with anything I can’t do it all myself so I have enlisted some top anglers to help me with the site – you might not know them, they might not even know that they are helping but we are certainly going to have some fun along the way….

Tight lines and watch as the site unfolds.

Danny
